Race car passionate and from time to time driver,  I used to do my pelerinage for many years  to Stratford upon Avon.

Of course, it was not to meet with Shakespeare but more especially to be a curious and avid visitor of the racing kit car

show at the National Agricultural Centre.

In the early 90's, I met Harold Dermott at the Midas booth. Soon after, I was at his factory to see the producion of the Midas.

I remembered to have seen the first molds of the convertible even before the press knew about the new model launch.

The Midas Gold MK3 that I decided to put for sale is not only the unique model seen in France, but as well the car

that was used to do the registration with the "Services des Mines".

Unfortunately, the French administration doesn't understand the artisan side of the car making, which doesn't allow

smart ingeneers or experimented passionates to design cars or express their talent. As a fact, it seems that the administration

didn't see the potential market as well as the potential tank of employment. All of that, lead all the homologuation attempts to

be unsuccessful.

My goal was clearly to import the Midas Cars, and to create a Midas owners club which would be interactive with the

other Midas owners club within the European community.

Despite of all my efforts,  the money invested, and the fantastic welcome at the Race Car show at le Bourget (including

a TV presentation of the car during the mid-day news), the Midas Gold could only find refuge at the renowed

museum Charbonneaux in the Champagne region with others famous cars and prototypes.

The Midas Gold was renamed Baumann in order to avoid an assimilation with the American automobile spare part

corporation as well as to avoid to deal with eventual lawsuits for the use of a similar name in the same professional field.

This Midas Gold MK3 is in a pristine condition. She has been (and still) kept has a show car for the past 17 years since

I moved to the United States during the year 1997.

Since, I have embraced a different carreer, and I do not have any plan to bring the car in the States.

I think that she has already pleased many visitors at the Charbonneaux museum, and that she can make a

happy owner.

The car has been subject to some improvements, like the dashboard made with rare woods, leather, etc. A trunk has

been created on the back to hide few small luggage, the battery and the spare wheel. Wheels, tyres and rear suspension

are all improved from the original car.

Please, take the time to read the article in the link tab (written in 2008 - I just discovered that on December 2013).

Use Google translator.

The car is for sale as she is for the net sum of £ 4000.00

Enjoy a week end trip in the beautiful Champagne region and see the prototype MIdas by yourself if you are interested.

Please, let me know. I will contact the museum director, Mr. Carayon who will welcome you and show you the car.

Regards,

Joseph Leon Stein.
